What is an EIN?

An Employer Identification Number ("EIN") is a nine-digit number assigned by the IRS to identify your organization. Your organization's EIN appears on the Form W-2 of all of your organization's employees. You can also obtain the EIN by having an officer of the organization call the IRS EIN Division at 1-800-829-4933 and ask them to send you an EIN letter (147C Letter).

Each organization that is a separate legal entity and is included in the group ruling must have its own unique EIN. If your organization does not have an EIN and believes it needs one, you can apply online at the IRS website here
